Never work underneath a raised vehicle if you have not put
further safety measures in place such as supporting blocks,
wheel blocks etc. in order to prevent the vehicle from rolling
away, slipping or tipping over.
Make sure that the air service jack is seated centrally and firmly
underneath the vehicle while lifting.
The use of the service jack in explosive atmosphere or in mines
is subject to special regulations.
Never leave the service jack with lifted load unattended.
The maximum manual force required to operate the service jack
must not exceed 400 N. If the forces generated exceed 400 N,
the jack must be operated by an additional person.
Always check if the air service jack is working properly before
using; in particular, check for leaking hydraulic oil, tight seat of all
screws and valves and that oil is fully topped up.
Oil the air service jack with high quality hydraulic oil. Never use
dirty oil, brake fluid etc. Improper fluids will cause damage to the
air service jack.
If oil is spilled in the work area, thoroughly clean the floor
surfaces before lifting loads in this area. The service jack can
slip away in an oil-contaminated floor.
Never operate a damaged or not properly working air service
jack.
Always use common sense when working with the jack.
Never force the air service jack while operating.
Do not move the vehicle while it is lifted by the air service jack.
Do not expose the air service jack to splash water or rain. Do not
use the service jack in extreme environmental conditions such
as very cold or hot climates or extreme wind, exposure to strong
magnetic radiation and the like, in connection with explosive
substances and additives or on ships.
