defect occurs, the specifications given in
chapter "Installation" must be precisely
followed!
If the waste water cannot be safely and
completely drained, it is possible that
property damage to the home and fur-
nishings may be caused by the water.
– If no bypass valve has been fitted,
a shut-off valve must be installed up-
stream of the water softening system.
This allows the water supply to be dis-
connected for water softening system
maintenance, repairs or in case of mal-
function.
– The device can be installed in all com-
mercially available drinking water pipes.
–
Installation of the water softening system
upstream of the water meter is forbid-
den!
A
permanent
(230 V, 50 Hz) must be available.
In the event that a device or supply-line leak
at the installation site could cause severe
damage (e.g. in offices, medical practices,
etc.); it must be ensured that the water sup-
ply and power supply are disconnected up-
stream of the system whenever personnel
are not present. However, this must not oc-
cur for as long as the device is still in regen-
eration position. If the water and power sup-
plies are disconnected for more than four
days, a manual regeneration must be initiat-
ed for hygiene reasons prior to recommis-
sioning.
4.1.1 Installation position
ATTENTION
(see chapter 1.2 "Safety instructions and
dangers due to non-observation")
Always install the water softening system in
an upright position (± 5°)!

If this is not observed, incorrect functioning
may result.
4.1.2 Power supply
A splash-proof socket, complying with
the legal regulations for wet areas, is
required for the power supply unit.
ATTENTION
(see chapter 1.2 "Safety instructions and
dangers due to non-observation")
The mains voltage must not be interrupted
(e.g. via a light switch). If the water softening
system does not have a permanent power
connection,
– Regeneration will not take place,
– No fault warnings will be output.
– Water leakage or even water damage
may occur during a regeneration as a re-
sult of a loss of power.
4.2
Installation
4.2.1 Pre-installation
The water softening system is connected
using the rotary flange fitting fast assembly
kit. This comprises rotary flange fitting, ring
seal and mounting cover. The rotary flange
fitting, suitable for both horizontal and verti-
cal pipes (see fig. 4), must be installed
aligned with the direction of flow. This is in-
dicated by a cast arrow symbol on the cast-
ing. The flange surface of the rotary flange
fitting must be vertical. The pipe can be
pressure tested prior to installation of the
softener.
