The FO-Repeater multiplexes data received on port 1 and port 2 to port 3. The data is
transmitted completely bit-transparent, i.e. direct forwarding of the information without itself
adding or filtering out information. The data received on port 3 is de-multiplexed in the device
and output to port 1 or port 2. Figure 1 shows a typical design with two 7XV5653 binary signal
transducers.
A remote connection can be established using the FO-Repeater and a protection data
interface module (FO17, FO18 or FO19, see page 49) corresponding to the desired range
used in the SIPROTEC 4 protection device (7SD610, 7SD52, 7SD53, 7SA52, 7SA6).
