Commissioning

Close the drain valve on the back of the device (handle in 90 ° – position to the
drain valve).

Ensure that the evaporation flask is correctly clamped ("Insert/remove the evapo-
ration flask" on page 110).

Move the heating bath to the upper end position ("Moving the heating bath
manually" on page 104).

With the flask dipped, fill the heating bath with the desired medium until the
fluid level reaches a height of 40 mm below the upper edge of the container
(maximum level).
Empty the heating bath
CAUTION: Risk of scalding
The heating bath is designed for a maximum operating temperature
of 210°C (using silicone oil). From a liquid temperature of 50 °C,
there is a risk of injury in the event of contact.

Ensure that a suitable drain tube is attached to the drain valve.

Move the heating bath to the lower end position ("Moving the heating bath
manually" on page 104).

Open the drain valve on the back of the device (handle parallel to the drain valve).
➜
Clean the heating bath and the drain tube between the heating bath and the drain
cock.
➜
Close the drain valve on the back of the device!
Before emptying the heating bath, allow heated liquid to cool
down to below 50 °C.
Use suitable personal protective equipment (heat-resistant
gloves, eye protection, safety clothing) to empty the heating
bath.
