4. Preparation:

Function and operation of the electronic unit
Essentially, the electronic unit has to fulfil three main functions:
Protecting the operator against accidents.
Assuring a long lifetime of the drilling machine and the tools.
Continuous speed adjustment according to the relevant technological
requirements.
Note the following for a proper function of the magnetic core
drilling machine and for reasons of working safety:
The speed of the work spindle has to be selected depending on the
material and the diameter drilled.
Always use sharp-edged tools only.
The shafts of the tools have to be in perfect condition and without any
contamination. They should not show any damages.
The tool holding taper in the work spindle has to be cleaned properly
before a drill is inserted.
When a toothed drill chuck with an appropriate taper mandril is being
used, the clamping of the drilling machine has to be carried out
correctly and firmly by means of a key.
The key has to be removed from the chuck before the work is started.
In the case of drilling machines with inner cone, the drilling tools may
only be removed by means of the drill ejector, which is part of the
delivery.
The moveable connecting cable may never be tensioned.
Any damages have to be avoided, since an endangering by electric
power may be caused.
