16.2. Battery charging

Please observe the following rules:
• Batteries can be recharged at any time and even when they are not discharged
completely. They do not have the so-called memory effect.
• Only use either the built-in charging set or the additional external charging set supplied
by MZ.
• Never leave the scooter with discharged batteries as this will lead to the destruction of
the batteries, with no warranty being granted for this.
• Charge the batteries every day after driving.
• Before you start charging, turn both the light and the master switch OFF.
• Insert the small key and turn it to the left to unlock the battery compartment. To remove
the cover, pull it forwards at an angle.
• Charging using the built-in charging set:
Insert the earthing/grounding pin plug of the power cable into a socket outlet with
earthing/grounding contact installed by a skilled person.
• Charging using the external charging set:
Disconnect the battery cable from the vehicle network. Then, turn the master switch and
the lights ON until all LEDs go out. Turn the master switch OFF again.
Connect the battery to the charging cable of the charging set. If necessary, remove the
battery for this purpose. Connect the power cable of the external charging set to an A.C.
network socket outlet (100 V or 230 V). Please observe the operating instructions for the
charging set.
