Standards and Guidelines Used
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
The sensor AS-247 complies with the requirements of guideline 2004/108/EG for electromagnetic compa-
tibility and has been certified according to DIN EN 61326-1: 2006.
1.2
Intended Use
The AS-247 is a highly sensitive 2-axis acceleration sensor. It is especially designed for measurements of
low-frequency vibration. The AS-247 is used for structural monitoring (vibration) of whole or parts of
buildings or for vibration measurement of slowly rotating machinery. It is particulary suitable for monitoring
tower vibration at wind power plants.
1.3
Basic Function
The functionality of the sensor AS-247 is based on a capacitive measurement process. The integrated
electronic measuring equipment provides a voltage signal that is proportional to the acceleration acting on
the sensor.
Due to its excellent noise performance, the sensor is especially well-suited for capturing low frequency vib-
ration down to 0 Hz.
1.4
Requirements on the Personnel
The installation and use of the product must be carried out only by authorised and qualified personnel.
Work on electrical components must be carried out only by persons who skills are equivalent to those of a
qualified electrician. Further, basic knowledge in the field of vibration measurement is indispensable.
