The coffee is not hot
• The cups have not been preheated.
0 Pre-heat the cups by rinsing them in
hot water or leaving them for at least
20 minutes on the heated cup rack (H)
(see „Tips for making hotter coffee",
page 39).
The coffee is not creamy enough
• The coffee is ground too coarsely.
0 Turn the knob for setting the grinding
texture one click anticlockwise whilst
the grinder is grinding beans for the
preparation of next coffee (see „Set-
ting the grinding texture", page 42).
• Wrong type of coffee.
0 Use a type of coffee for fully auto-
mated espresso makers.
The coffee runs out too slowly
• The coffee is ground too finely.
0 Turn the knob for setting grinding tex-
ture one click clockwise whilst the
grinder is grinding beans for the prep-
aration of next coffee (see „Setting the
grinding texture", page 42).
The coffee runs out too quickly
• The coffee is ground too coarsely.

• The dispenser holes are blocked.

When the button
appliance does not switch on
• The main switch at the back is not
switched on (fig. 8) or the appliance is
not plugged in.
0 Check that the main switch is in the "I"
position and that the power cable is
plugged into the mains socket.
The brewing unit cannot be removed
for cleaning
• The appliance is on. The brewing unit
can only be removed if the appliance is
off.
0 Turn the appliance off and remove the
brewing unit (see „Cleaning the brew-
ing unit", page 44).
3 Important: The brewing unit can only
be removed if the appliance is turned
off with the ON/OFF key
