Text entry modes make it easy for you to enter names, numbers,
and messages.
In the text entry screen, select
one of the following modes:
• Primary—for entering alphanumeric characters
• Numeric—for entering numbers only
• Symbol—for entering symbols only
• Secondary—for entering alphanumeric characters. (This mode is
optional and you have to add it to the list.)
In the text entry screen, you can also press
change to Primary, Numeric, Symbol, or Secondary (if you have set
it up).
Secondary is convenient when you use one language, and
sometimes wish to switch to another one.
This mode appears in the list only if you set it up first via
> Entry Setup.
None is the default programming from factory and indicates no
secondary entry mode is selected.
There are two text entry methods:
• TAP—Enter letters, numbers and symbols by pressing an
alphanumeric key one or more times.
• iTAP—Let the terminal predict each word as you press an
alphanumeric key.
You can use these methods in the languages programmed in the
terminal.
In the text entry screen, select
change to one of the methods and its related language (for
example: TAP English).
