5.4.d. MOUNTING
Always check that the tyre/rim combination is correct in terms of compatibility (tube-
less tyre on tubeless rim; tube type tyre on tube type rim) and geometrical size (keying
diameter, cross-section width, off-set and shoulder profile) before mounting.
Also check that rims are not deformed, that their fixing holes have not become oval, that
they are not encrusted or rusty and that they do not have sharp burrs on the valve holes.
Make sure that the tyre is in good condition without any signs of undue wear or damage.
1- Carefully lubricate the sides of the tyre along the entire circumference of the bottom
and top bead (Fig. 23a).
2- Manually adjust the tyre so that the upper shoulder of the rim passes the lower bead
and goes into the well.
3- Press the
button to move the demount-
ing tool to the work position (Fig. 23b).
4- Move the
pressure on the tyre (Fig. 23c).
5- Keep the section of the tyre with the lower bead
not yet inserted in the rim partially depressed and
turn the
turntable until the first bead is
completely inserted.
6- Position the bead presser to the side of the
mounting tool.
N.B.: If necessary, also use the bead pressing
tool clamps.
7- Operate the
pressing tool until the upper bead is in the well
(see Fig. 23d).
