1.1 Introduction
This manual provides the instructions for use of S50A Mobile tyre changer and the information necessary for its maintenance. A
section about the optional accessories has been added in Chapter 3 "Optional accessories".
The owner of S50A Mobile tyre changer is the only person responsible for the observance of the safety procedures and the
organisation of technical training. S50A Mobile must be used only by qualified and duly trained technicians. The owner or
management is exclusively responsible for storing the documentation relative to qualified personnel.
S50A Mobile is intended for mounting and demounting most of the medium and heavy tyres mounted on trucks. This manual
provides general instructions on common wheel and tyre combinations. Special wheel and tyre combinations may require
procedures different from those provided with this manual.

This manual assumes that the technician already has the basic notions for tyre identification and maintenance. The first section
reports basic information on the use of the S50A Mobile tyre changer. The following sections of this manual contain detailed
information regarding equipment, procedures and maintenance. Italics are used to refer to specific parts of this manual that offer
additional information or clarifications. For example, to refer to "2.1 Wheel clamping", on page 9. These references must be read
in order to obtain information additional to the instructions provided.

Outlined below are the definitions for danger level identification, with the relevant warning captions used in this manual:
DANGER: It indicates an imminent dangerous situation that, if not avoided, could lead to serious injury or death.

CAUTION: It refers to dangers or procedures that are not totally safe and that could lead to minor injury or material damage.
CAUTION: It indicates a potentially dangerous situation that, if not avoided, could cause slight or mild injuries.
CAUTION: Adhere to the instructions and indications provided in this manual: the operator will be entirely responsible in the
event of any use of the equipment that is not expressly described in this manual.
WARNING When used without the safety hazard symbol, it indicates a potentially dangerous situation that,
if not avoided, could cause material damage.
IMPORTANT SAfETY INSTRUCTIONS
Always keep all the instructions together with the equipment.
Use the equipment only as described in this manual.
To reduce the risk of fire, do not use the equipment near open containers of flammable liquids (petrol).
If the cable or equipment is damaged, do not use the equipment until it is checked by a qualified technician.
If an extension is necessary, use a cable with a rated current equal to or greater than that of the equipment. Cables might
overheat if their rated current is lower than that foreseen for the equipment. Make sure that the cable is positioned so that it
cannot be pulled and the risk of tripping is avoided.
Always disconnect the equipment from the electric socket when it is not in use. Do not pull the cable to disconnect the connector
from the socket. Grasp the connector and pull it until it is disconnected.
Read and observe the warnings and cautions affixed to the equipment and the tools. Keep all the adhesive labels, tags and
warnings clean and visible.
