4.13 SEED DRILL HYDRAULIC LIFTING SYSTEM
The system makes it possible to lift the seed drill onto the support
equipment and, at the same time, lift up the transmission wheel,
disabling sowing.
1) Assemble the kit, following the instructions in the diagram
enclosed with the kit.
2) Adjust the length of the seed drill's third point hydraulic cylinder
(Fig. 47) as described in the instructions in the table on the
diagram enclosed with the kit
a) Extend the cylinder completely and measure the distance
between centres.
b) Determine the difference between the measurement and
the value shown in the table.
c) Retract the stem slightly and, using a no. 25 spanner, adjust
the cylinder stem to the difference calculated.
CAUTION: the adjustment range for the third point hydrau-
lic cylinder is 46 mm to allow the threaded ball joint to
have enough threads in the grip (minimum permissible
distance between centres 537 mm - maximum permissible
distance between centres 583 mm).
d) Secure the M22 lock nut once the length indicated in the
table in the diagram accompanying the kit has been rea-
ched.
e) Extend the cylinder again and check the correspondence
of the length with what is shown in the table.
3) Attach the seed drill to the equipment, following the instructions
in Chapter 4.1.
4) Lift the equipment up completely and slide out the support
props.
CAUTION: road use is strictly prohibited with the support
props applied in the parking position.
5) Lower the lifting unit, putting the combined equipment in the
working position. Ensure that all the sowing components and
the seed-covering harrow are free to oscillate.
6) With the tractor off and ¿ rmly secured, with the key removed
and the equipment on the ground, connect the hydraulic pipes
correctly to the tractor distributors following the indications
shown on each pipe.
7) Activate the hydraulic third point system and extend the cylinder
completely.
8) Check that the whole set (seed drill/rotary harrow) is perpen-
dicular to the ground (Fig. 18/2).
9) If necessary, proceed as follows:
a) reduce the circuit pressure slightly.
b) using a no. 25 spanner, adjust the cylinder stem (Fig. 48)
until the seed drill is perpendicular to the ground (Fig. 49).
c) raise and lower the seed drill, checking that it is perpendi-
cular in the working position
10) While working, periodically check that the seed drill is perpen-
dicular.
11) Every 8 hours, check that the M22 lock nut is tightened properly
(E, Fig. 50).
