Locking with the locking
cylinder is not possible.
Special version without
escape door function
Function and operation
Unlocking an escape door
The locked electric multi-point lock 819N is unlocked in the following situations:
· The lock receives an electrical signal ("unlocking" control input), such as by means of a release button, a
timer, or an electronic access control system. Then the outer door handle is engaged and it can be used
to unlock the lock,
· the panic bar or door handle is operated from inside,
· the profile cylinder (locking cylinder) is actuated from outside with an appropriate key.
Functional principle during electrical unlocking (actuation via external release impulse)
The lock engages the door handle for 5 seconds or for the set release time when the OneSystem IO module
N5950 is used. The door can be opened.
If the door is closed again or the door is not opened within 5 seconds, the door handle is disengaged
again.
A message showing the handle coupling status will be issued if the electric multi-point lock 819N is con-
nected to the OneSystem IO module N5950. The release time can be adjusted on the OneSystem IO module
N5950.
Escape door function
In general: An escape door always be opened with the door handle from the inside, even if it is locked.
Profile cylinder (locking cylinder)
The lock is unlocked by the locking cylinder. With use of the OneSystem IO module N5950, the locking
cylinder is a signalling device for superordinate control systems. The locking with the locking cylinder is
not necessary, nor is it possible. The locking cylinder has an internal stop collar which prevents it from
turning completely.
The key must be pulled out in normal operation.
Unlocking without escape door function
The special version without escape door function (both sides controlled by door handle) is unlocked in
the following situations:
· The lock receives an electrical signal (unlocking control input), such as by means of a release button, a
timer, or an electronic access control system, Then the both handles are engaged and can be used to
unlock the lock,
· the profile cylinder (locking cylinder) is actuated from inside or outside with an appropriate key.
Switch-on for commissioning
The electrically connected lock ("Electrical connection", page 61) is switched on by switching on the
voltage. The lock is ready for operation after 10 seconds. No electrical release is possible before this time
("No reaction to control signal", page 73).
