ductor connection must correspond to the local
regulations.
• A motor protection switch must be used. We rec-
ommend using a residual current device (RCD).
• Switching devices must be purchased as
accessories.
5.6.1. Technical details
• Activation type: Direct
• Power supply fuse: 16 A
• Cable cross-section for pump/frequency
converter:
• Up to 30 m: 1.5 mm²
• From 30 to 90 m: 2.5 mm²
• Cable cross-section for pump/frequency
converter:
• Up to 1.1 kW: 1.5 mm²
• 1.2 kW and above: 2.5 mm²
• For cables 5 m in length and over, a cable
cross-section of 2.5 mm² should always be
used to prevent malfunctions due to drops
in voltage.
• Cable temperature resistance: max. 75 °C
• Only slow-blow fuses or K characteristic auto-
matic cut-outs may be used for pre-fusing.
5.6.2. Unit with integrated frequency converter
(TWU 3-...-HS-I)
The version with integrated frequency converter
is delivered ex factory with a connected power
cable. It must be extended to the required length
by the customer.
The mains power connection is made by connect-
ing the power supply cable to the switch box.
Electrical connections may only be made by
a qualified electrician!
The wires of the connection cable are assigned
as follows:
3-wire connection cable
Wire color
Brown
Blue
Green/yellow
5.6.3. Unit with external frequency converter
(TWU 3-...-HS-ECP)
The pump and mains connections are made
at the frequency converter.
Electrical connections may only be made by
a qualified electrician!

Pump/frequency converter connection
The factory-connected power cable must be
extended by the customer to the required length
and then connected to the frequency converter.
A round cable must be used to extend the
cable so that the cable feed on the frequency
converter is sealed properly!
1.
Undo the two screws on the bottom of the
housing and take off the cover.
2.
Undo the two cable feeds on the bottom
of the housing.
3.
You will find two connection terminals in the fre-
quency converter: MOTOR and LINE. Put the cable
connection on your cable and guide it through the
cable feed on the side of the "MOTOR" terminal.
4.
Screw the cable connection into the housing and
fix the cable.
5.
Take off the connection terminal, connect the
cable to the terminal according to the following
wire assignment and put the connection terminal
back on.

6.
The grounding conductor is fixed above the
"MOTOR" terminal on the grounding terminal.
The conductor must be provided with a cable lug.
Power supply / frequency converter connection
RiSK of fatal electric shocks
The mains power cable must be connected
to the frequency converter before it is con-
nected to the switchbox! if this sequence is
not followed, the full mains voltage will be
exposed at the open cable end. There is a risk
of fatal injury! it is essential that you follow
this sequence and have the electrical connec-
tion made by an electrician.
A round cable must be used for the power
supply so that the cable feed on the frequency
converter is sealed properly!
1.
Put the second cable connection on the cable
and guide the cable through the opening on the
side of the "LINE" terminal.
2.
Screw the cable connection into the housing
and fix the cable.
3.
Take off the connection terminal, connect the
cable to the terminal and put the connection
terminal back on.
4.
The grounding conductor is fixed above the
"LINE" terminal on the grounding terminal.
The conductor must be provided with a cable lug.
