11. Apply power to start up the DL8000. The LCD display
above the keypad (see Figure 5) should light.
12. When startup is successful, configure the DL8000 to
meet the requirements of the application. After you
configure the DL8000 and calibrate the I/O, you can place
the DL8000 into operation. Refer to the ROCLINK™ 800
Configuration Software User Manual (for DL8000) (Part
D301259X012). During normal operation and use, no user
adjustments on this device are required.
13. To maintain the DL8000, periodically inspect the
wiring for signs of deterioration. The DL8000 may also
require verification of the meter and I/O calibration.
14. If you are experiencing problems that appear to be
software related, try resetting the DL8000 with a
warm start, a cold start, or a reset using the Reset
button on the CPU module.
CAUTION
Ensure the area is non-hazardous before opening the
cover and performing the following procedure.
You lose all configuration and log data with a reset.
Make a backup of configuration and log data before
attempting any type of reset.

Before starting a reset, open the DL8000 case.
The Reset button on the front of the CPU module
restores the unit to factory defaults. To use the Reset
button, remove power from the unit and firmly
depress the button for 15 seconds with a pen or stylus
while applying power. Refer to the ROCLINK™ 800
Configuration Software User Manual (for DL8000) Part
D301259X012), concerning warm and cold starts.
If you are experiencing problems that appear to be
hardware-related, verify the wiring. If you still
experience problems, contact your local sales office to
obtain return authorization.
15. To disassemble the DL8000, first back up all
configuration and log data from the unit. Then remove
all power from the unit and remove all external wiring
from the modules.
16. Place the DL8000 into a box for shipping or
storage.
