CO DETECTOR PLACEMENT
The carbon monoxide detector was developed to detect toxic CO
gasses which are emitted from incomplete combustion in e.g. ap-
pliances, heaters, fireplaces and exhaust fumes. A single storey
house should at a minimum be protected by one detector inside
each bedroom or in the hallway to the bedrooms.
Install the detectors as close as possible to the sleeping area and
verify the alarm is audible. A multi-storey house should at a minimum
be protected by one detector per storey.
