5. Installation
The tasks described in this section may only be
carried out by a qualified electrician.
5.1
Choice of location

Danger of injury and fire.
If the device is operated in potentially explosive areas (ex
areas), explosive substances may be ignited by sparking of
device components.
f Do not use charging cable in potentially-explosive
atmospheres (e.g. at gas filling stations)

WARNING
Risk due to unsuitable environmental conditions / instal-
lation locations.
Unsuitable ambient conditions and setup locations may
lead to dangerous situations when dealing with electricity
f Please observe the following points when selecting an
installation location:
Do not install in flood-prone areas.
Compliance with local technical connection require-
ments and safety rules.
Comply with ambient conditions according to Chapter
"4. Technical Data".
The charging system must be protected from direct
exposure to water jets.
Sufficient space for minimum clearances according to
Chapter "5.2.1 Minimum distances".
Smart* (S): The network of the cellular service provider
is available unrestrictedly at the installation location.
MENNEKES recommends protecting the charging
system by on-site curbs or bollards.

Damage to the device due to insufficient ventilation.
Insufficient ventilation can lead to overheating and thus to
damages to the device.
f Observe the specified minimum distances to other
objects (e.g. walls).
Please observe the specified minimum distances also for
barrier-free access during operation and maintenance and
repair work.
