4 Identification
4.1 Product description and type

The MHX series explosion-proof housing has been
designed for use with cameras operating in industrial
environments in which there may be an explosive
atmosphere due to gas, vapours, mists, or air or
powder mixtures.
The MHX housing are made of electropolished
AISI 316L stainless steel. They are constituted by
a cylindrical body closed by two flanges, inside of
which a camera/lens can be installed and powered.

The rear flange incorporates the internal slide where
the camera must be positioned, it contains also the
internal electronics that manages the power supply
and the heating devices of the housing.
The cables entry is made through two 3/4" NPT
threaded holes on the rear flange, the connections
must be made in accordance with IEC/EN60079-14.
The containment body is made from a tube of
diameter 5", with a thickness not less than 4mm. The
front flange has toughened glass window.
The housing has an IP66/IP67 protection degree and
its operating temperature is from -40°C to 60°C (from
-40°F to 140°F).
