4.2 ENGINE START SWITCH
See fig.4 (n.14 fig.2) and check engine instruction manual.
Before starting the engine, check to make sure that the gear (n.3 fig.1) and
inverter (n.14 fig.1) lever are in neutral. Push in the clutch pedal (n.12 fig.1), to
close the start enable switch, turn the key as follows:
0 = No circuit is live.
1 = Instruments and warning lights ON (running position).
Models fitted with preheater, warning light n.10 fig.2 lights.
Hold at position 1 until the warning light goes out and then turn to position 2.
2 = Start engine.
When the engine has started: release the key and it will automatically return to
position 1 (normal running).
With models 55AW-55BW, at low temperatures, insert the choke by pulling knob
n.15 fig.1. When the engine starts, release the knob.
Check the indicator lights and the control instruments.
For air cooled engines, check to make sure that the oil gauge needle ( n.8
fig.2), is at the halfway mark on the the scale. If it is in the red sector at the first
half of the scale, this means that oil pressure is too low. Consult the instruction
manual for the engine.
For water cooled engines. Check the oil pressure gauge, n.3 fig.2. It should turn
off after a few seconds once the engine has started.
With water cooled engines, the temperature gauge needle (n.8 fig.2), should be
in the green sector (80°-95°) when the engine is hot and in working conditions. If
it is not, check the engine cooling system.
4.3 STOPPING THE ENGINE
Move the throttle lever (n.4 fig.1) up to minimum setting; pull knob n.15 fig.1.
For models 55AW-55BW 42AW-42BW, the engine is stopped by moving the
starter switch fig.4 to position 0.
Pull the parking brake n.10 fig.1.
4.4 DRIVING THE TRACTOR
Parking brake (n.10 fig.1) lowered.
Disengage the clutch by pushing in pedal n.12 fig.1
Select the speed with the gear range lever (n.14 fig.1). Positions (see fig.5):
