Regular checks
9.1
Checking general operation
Check the smoke detector once a month to ensure that it is func-
tioning properly. To do this, push the test button to the pressure
point for around 2 seconds.
•
If the acoustic signal sounds once and the red LED in the
test button flashes 10 times, this indicates that the smoke
detector is functioning properly.
•
If only the red LED in the test button starts to flash after
you press the button, this indicates that the smoke detector
is defective. Replace it if this is the case.
•
If no signal of any kind is issued, first make sure that the
batteries have been inserted with the correct polarity. If
the polarity is correct, check the batteries and replace them
if necessary. If the batteries are OK, this means that the
smoke detector is defective. Replace it if this is the case.

Checking the wireless network
To check the assignment of a smoke detector to a wireless net-
work, get the smoke detector to transmit a wireless test signal.
