NOTICE
Risk of damage to the battery charger / risk of damage
caused by the battery charger. Please note the following
when using the charger:
n Only use a battery charger supplied by Otto Bock which
has been tested and approved by Otto Bock for the
respective batteries (observe information on the charger).
Failure to do so can result in a battery explosion and
possible impairment of health due to contact with battery
acid.
n The information on the nameplate of the charger must
match the country-specific voltage of the respective
power supply network.
n Only use the battery charger within the specified ranges
of temperature and humidity.
n Place the rubber feet of the battery charger on a level
surface.
n When setting the charger up close to a window, protect
it against direct sunlight.
n Keep the charger from overheating. The vent openings
on the back of the charger must not be covered.
n Turn off the control unit during the charging process so
that the entire charging current flows to the battery.
C2000
n Avoid dust and dirt. Only clean with a dry cloth.
The battery charger is designed for the 12 V gel batteries
installed in the C2000 power wheelchair. The charger can
operate along two characteristic curves to charge the respec-
tive batteries. Upon delivery of the power wheelchair, the
matching characteristic curve will be set at the factory. If the
battery charger is to be used with another power wheelchair
or if batteries with another capacity are installed, the char-
acteristic curve has to be checked.
To charge the batteries, proceed as follows:
1.  Switch off the controls of the power wheelchair.
2.  Pull back the metal slide on the battery charger's plug and
connect the plug to the charging receptacle on the power
wheelchair.
3.  Connect the battery charger to a wall socket and turn it
on. Charging will start automatically. The current charge
status is indicated on the LEDs of the battery charger (see
Table 5).
4.  When the charging process is complete, turn off the bat-
tery charger as follows:
5.  First disconnect the battery charger from the mains supply.
