GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS WHEN USING THE
APPLIANCE
Keep the appliance clean by regularly washing the grill (11), tray (12),
filter-holder (7), water tank (17), steam / hot water delivery spout
and air intake aperture (10). EXTREMELY IMPORTANT: Never
immerse the appliance in water or place it in a dishwasher. Regularly
replace the water contained in the water tank (17). Ensure that there
is some water in the water tank before using the appliance. Check
that the water take-up tube (16) is positioned inside the water tank
(17) after changing the water. At least once every three months use a
decalcification agent that has been designed specifically for use with
espresso appliances to remove any limescale deposits. Keep cups
warm by using the cup-warmer (13) to help achieve the perfect cup of
espresso coffee. The appliance is fitted with a valve, which keeps the
pressure constant. In turn, this may result in some drops of water
escaping from the filter-holder (7).

x 1 INSTALLATION AND METHOD FOR USE
INSTALLATION
Before connecting the appliance to the power
supply, check that the electricity supply is
compatible with the specification data that is
listed on the plate (14). Fill the water tank with
cold water (17) and ensure that the water take-
up tube (16) is fully immersed in the water.
Place a container under the filter-holder (7).
Activate the main switch (1). Now activate switch (2) and leave the
water running for approximately one and a half minutes.
Also follow this procedure when the appliance has been left
unused for several days.
METHOD FOR USE
Follow the steps that are outlined below, when
making a cup of coffee after switching off or
first installing the appliance: activate the main
switch (1) and check that the ready-for-
operation light (4) is illuminated. Note that the
temperature light will be on if the appliance

has not reached its operating temperature (5).
Fit the filter-holder (7) in place (8). Wait for the

temperature light (5) to go out. Place a cup on
the grill (11) and activate the coffee button (2).

To warm the cup, fill it with hot water and then
empty it. The appliance and cup are now ready
to make the perfect espresso. For optimum
performance, switch on the appliance at least
20 minutes prior to use.
Take an E.S.E. serving and place it face down
on the filter-holder (7).
Fit the filter-holder (7) to its bracket (8) by
rotating it in an anti-clockwise direction.
IMPORTANT: To guarantee flawless coffee
extraction, the filter-holder must be fixed
firmly in place. Use your right hand to hook
up the filter-holder while holding the
appliance in place with your left hand. Please
note that some force may be required during
this procedure.
Activate switch (2): Turn off switch (2) once the
desired amount of coffee (strong or weak) has
been delivered. After extraction, remove the
filter-holder (7) and discard the spent E.S.E.
serving. Repeat as many times as necessary to
obtain as many cups of coffee as you require.
