Disassembling the lamination ring
• To remove the 13G8=67 Lamination Ring (Fig. 1, item B) from the elbow
set-up, you first have to separate the 13Z2=4 Lock Ring (Fig. 7, item A)
from the 13G11 / 13G39 Set Screw. After loosening the set screw (Fig. 3)
you can remove the lock ring. Then remove the lamination ring with at-
tached parts from the elbow ball (Fig. 8).
Assembly
• Isolate the inner contours of the lamination ring with silicone grease
and transfer it to the shaped foam part with light putty. This will ensure
exact positioning of the lamination ring (Fig. 9). Pull a PVA bag over the
shaped foam part and inner contours of the lamination ring and tie off
distally. Isolate the interior of the lamination ring with silicone grease and
degrease the exterior. Attach the lamination ring over the PVA bag to the
shaped foam part (Fig. 10). Laminate the outer socket over the shaped
foam part and lamination ring.
• Once the laminate has cured, lay bare the lamination ring by grinding
(Fig. 11 – without damaging the anodised layer on the lamination ring)
and remove the shaped foam part.
• Mount the elbow ball on the lamination ring again.
• Once again, temporarily affix the wrist unit and terminal device to the
elbow set-up to verify the length of the prosthesis. Shorten the forearm
socket a bit more, if necessary. It is important, however, that the diameter
for the wrist unit remains unchanged in the forearm socket.
Optional: installing the 9E185=50-1 extension cable
For better representation of the installation, the elbow component is shown
without the prosthetic socket in the corresponding illustrations.
• Disassemble the lamination ring with upper arm rotator as illustrated and
remove the blind plugs (Fig. 12).
• After the prosthetic socket has been laminated, pull the extension cable
through the elbow joint and connect it to the 13E190=150 distributor
(Fig. 13).
• Once the extension cable is correctly positioned in the upper arm rotator,
seal the proximal opening with silicone bonding agent (e.g. 617H46)
(Fig. 14, item A). Mount the outer socket on the elbow component and
