The weather station should now display the outdoor temperature and outdoor humidity at the
top of the display.
• If the weather station does not display any measured data from the outdoor sensor after 3
minutes, take the batteries from the weather station and outdoor sensor and proceed again
as described above.
Alternatively, you can manually start the sensor search by pushing the button „SEARCH"
(B9) on the rear of the weather station for 3 seconds until s sound signal can be heard. The
display for the outdoor temperature/humidity and the reception symbol (upper left of the
display) flash as well.
c) DCF-Reception
• When the weather station has found the outdoor sensor and shows the measured data, it
starts scanning for the DCF signal. The corresponding reception symbol (A10) flashes in the
lower right of the display.
• Do not put the weather station next to electronic devices, metal parts, cables, etc. Bad
reception can also be expected, e.g. in case of metallised insulation glass windows,
reinforced concrete construction, coated special wallpaper or basement rooms.
• Recognition of the DCF signal and its assessment may take about 5 minutes. Do not move
the weather station during this time. Do not push any buttons.
If the weather station has read the DCF signal properly, the current time and date appear in
the lower right of the display and the reception symbol (A10) stops flashing. During summer
time, „DST" (= „Daylight Saving Time") appears next to the radio tower icon.
• The DCF signal is a signal that is sent by a transmitter
in Mainflingen (near Frankfurt on the Main). Its
range is up to 1500 km, and under perfect reception
conditions even up to 2000 km.
Among others, the DCF signal contains the precise
time and date.
Of course, the tedious switching between summer
and winter time manually can also be dispensed
with.
