DEvICE DESCRIPTION

The ZD 6-24x56 RD telescopic day sight is
intended for use on firearms of various types
and calibres to perform on demanding day-
time missions even in low light conditions.
At night, it is complemented by night vision
devices with the night mode activated. The
reticle is designed to provide a good view of
the entire target area and ensure accurate
aiming and fire at short and long distances.
The telescopic sight produces a magnified
image of the observed target, with correct
horizontal and vertical orientation of the im-
age. The eyepiece enables diopter correction
within the range of ±3D for correct focus.
The parallax adjustment turret allows you to
focus the image by defining the parallax at
the distances of 30m - oo. The distance scale
on the parallax adjustment turret is valid un-
der normal conditions and is used to quickly
focus at the expected shooting distance. The
device features specially developed optical
layers to achieve the best possible optical
performance. The rifle sight is sealed and
tested for waterproofness by submersion in
1 meter of water for two hours.
The mechanical parts are designed for the
telescopic sight to meet the requirements
of MIL-STD 810 (resistance test methods),
STANAG 2914 (mechanical resistance), and
STANAG 2985 (extreme climatic conditions).
The sight - see Figure No. 1 is a monolithic
tube of special aluminium alloy, a lens, a
focus ring, a zoom ring, and the centre sec-
tion contains the parallax turret with eleva-
tion and windage adjustment knobs. The
eyepiece consists of the focus eyepiece itself
and an illuminator, which uses two control
buttons to activate the reticle illumination
in the day and night modes and to adjust
the brightness. The illumination device also
includes a battery compartment provided
with a sealed lid. The eyepiece features a
rubber eyecup protecting the shooter's eye
against potential injury. In order to prevent
condensation on the inside surfaces, the
scope charged with an inert gas. The eleva-
tion and windage adjustment turrets enable
the correction of the point of aim; after the
correction is performed and the turrets are
reset, they provide distance and windage
adjustment across the entire adjustment
range, with 1 click = ¼ MOA. The lens and
the eyepiece are protected with covers.
