6.3 Maintenance and inspection

CAUTION!
 Before cleaning the exterior casing of the voltage amplifier, turn off the power switch and
unplug the power plug. Failure to do so may result in a fire or electrical shock.
 Clean the exterior casing using a damp cloth that has been firmly wrung out. Do not use
alcohols, benzene, paint thinner or other flammable substances. If flammable substances
come into contact with an electrical component inside the voltage amplifier, this may result in a
fire or electrical shock.

6.4 Environmental conditions

The amplifier can be used:
 indoors only
 at an altitude of up to 2000 m
 at a temperature between: 5 and 35 °C
 at a relative humidity between: 5 and 95 % (non-condensing)
The recommended environmental conditions:
 indoors only
 at an altitude of up to 2000 m
 at a temperature between: 20 and 22 °C
 at a relative humidity between: 5 and 80 % (non-condensing)

Handling

"offset"
With the potentiometer "offset" a voltage signal can be generated. With the potentiometer the
whole voltage range from -200 to +1000 V can be adjusted by hand. The voltage is shown on the
LC-display. The PosiCon 1000/X can be driven without an external waveform generator.
If an external waveform generator is connected via "Input" with the PosiCon 1000/X the signal
can be moved with the potentiometer. Adjustments at the waveform generator are not necessary.
"Input"
At this BNC-socket an external signal can be provided for voltage/position control. In open loop
operation the PosiCon 1000/X acts as a common piezo amplifier. In this mode Piezocomposite
Actuators without a positioning sensor can be driven. The position shown on the µm-LCD is invalid.
In closed loop operation the input signal is the reference for the feedback system. The input signal
can differ between two levels. -1 to +5 V and -2 to +10 V. Switch "att" between "1" and "0.5".
"att"
This switch defines the attenuation factor "1" for an input signal -1 to +5 V or "0.5" for an input
signal from -2 to +10 V.
