6.9 Administration of the configurations

Each configuration adjusted in the DSM-260
may permanently be memorized on one of its 64
memory locations as "Program". By means of
the control programme these configurations may
be read from the memory of the DSM-260 and
be saved on the computer or they can e. g. be
modified and retransferred to the unit. In addi-
tion, up to 64 configurations may be compiled as
a project and this can again be saved or trans-
ferred to the unit.
6.9.1 Saving the configuration
on the computer
To save the present configuration on the com-
puter:
1) Click the following button.
The dialog window opens "Save As".
2) Enter the desired file name, select the mem-
ory location and save the file.
As a preset for the memory location, the
subfolder "Program" is selected which has
automatically been created during installation
of the programme. The file extension *.d26 is
automatically attached to the name entered.
6.9.2 Loading a configuration
from the computer
CAUTION
Prior to loading a configuration
check if it corresponds to the
speaker constellation connected.
Due to the flexible possibilities of configuration
of the DSM-260, e. g. an output configured for
controlling a tweeter may become the bass fre-
quency output after loading another configura-
tion. In this case there is the risk of overload for
a tweeter connected to this output.
To load a configuration memorized on the com-
puter:
1) Click the following button.
The dialog window "Open" opens.
2) Select the desired file and confirm the open-
ing.
If the selected file does not contain any
valid configuration, the following message
appears "Load Program – File not admitted".
6.9.3 Memorizing the configuration
in the unit
To memorize the present configuration in the
DSM-260:
1) Click the following button.
The dialog window "Store Program"
(
fig. 22) opens.
2) In the field "Select Position" or by double-click-
ing an entry in the list, select the memory loca-
tion under "Memory Program". A free memory
location "Program Empty" may be selected or
a memory location already re served may be
selected to overwrite its contents.
3) Enter the name for the configuration in the
field "Edit Name". The name may consist of
16 characters as a maximum. It is recom-
mended to refrain from using special (coun-
try-specific) characters (e. g. ä, ö, ü, ß, è, ô, ì,
á, ñ, μ) as they will not correctly be shown on
the display of the DSM-260.
4) To store, click the button "Store" or cancel the
procedure with "Cancel".
5) In another dialog window "Store Program –
Are you sure?" confirm or cancel the proce-
dure.
After storing, the window "Store Program"
will be closed.

6.9.4 Loading a configuration from the unit

CAUTION
Prior to loading a configuration in
any case check if it corresponds to
the speaker constellation con-
nected.
Due to the flexible possibilities of configuration
of the DSM-260, e. g. an output configured for
controlling a tweeter may become the bass fre-
quency output after loading another configura-
tion. In this case there is the risk of overload for
a tweeter connected to this output.
To load a configuration from the memory of the
DSM-260:
1) Click the following button.
The dialog window "Read Program"
(
fig. 23) opens.
2) Select a configuration from the list under
"Memory Program".
3) To load, click the button "Read" or cancel the
procedure with "Cancel".
If a free memory location "Program Empty"
has been selected, the error message "Read
Program – Program empty" appears.
4) In another dialog window "Read Program –
Overwriting current editing, are you sure?"
confirm or cancel the procedure.
After loading, the window "Read Program"
will be closed.
