Electrical Connection
Power Requirements
The appliance can consume a total of 2000 W. With this
connected load a separate supply line protected by a 16 A
household circuit breaker is recommended.
CAUTION: Overload!
•
If you use extension leads, these should have a cable
cross-section of at least 1.5 mm².
•
Do not use any multiple sockets, as this device is too
powerful.
Connection
•
Make sure that the appliance is switched off. The tempera-
ture control must be set to "OFF".
•
Make sure that the iron voltage (see name plate) and the
line voltage match.
•
The mains plug should only be inserted into a correctly
installed socket with earthing contact.
Before initial use
1. Take the device out of its packaging.
2. Remove all packaging materials, such as foils, filling mate-
rials, cable ties and cartons.
3. Check that all accessories are included in the box.
4. Operate the appliance for around 10 minutes on the high-
est setting (see "Initial Operation").

NOTE:
•
This process normally produces a little smoke and some
smells. Provide sufficient ventilation.
•
Clean manufacturing residues and dust from the device
as described under "Cleaning".
Initial Operation
1. Place the appliance on a level, water and heat-resistant
surface. The surface should be easy to clean as spattering
is unavoidable. If resting on a sensitive surface, place a
heat-resistant plate beneath it.
2. Please ensure that the temperature regulator is turned to
"OFF" (off) and insert it into the socket of the thermostat.
CAUTION:
If the thermostat is not
inserted correctly, this may
lead to abnormal heating,
of which the consequence
may be damage or acci-
dents. You should therefore
ensure that the thermostat
is inserted correctly.
3. Connect the device to a properly installed power socket.
4. Set the temperature control according to what you intend to
do:
Range
MIN - 1
2
3
4
5
NOTE:
•
The device has reached the correct temperature
when the control lamp on the thermostat goes off.
•
During operation, the pilot lamp switches on and off.
This is normal and indicates that the temperature is
being thermostatically controlled and maintained.
