4. Design and function
4.1 Description
The hand-held temperature calibrator model CEP3000 is a portable temperature
calibrator for the measurement and simulation of temperatures. The model CEP3000
works with different thermocouples and resistance thermometers.
Very high accuracy and diverse special functions make the instrument to a user-friendly
and highly flexible calibration instrument.

4.3 Battery selection
The model CEP3000 works with four alkaline batteries (AA) or with four NiMH recharge-
able batteries (AA). To change the batteries or to put in the rechargeable batteries,
remove the screw from the battery compartment cover on the back and remove the
cover. If NiMH rechargeable batteries are used, the optional power supply unit supplies
the device and, at the same time, recharges the batteries. A recharge takes between
10 and 12 hours. The power supply unit can be used for power supply with or without
inserted NiMH rechargeable batteries.
WARNING!
Never connect the power supply unit/charger if alkaline batteries are
inserted in the model CEP3000.
