10.4.5 Charging battery
Danger
Risk of injury! Comply with safety regulations on the han-
dling of batteries. Observe the directions provided by the
manufacturer of the charger.
Danger
Charge the battery only with an appropriate charger.
Disconnect the connecting cable from the battery at the
positive terminal.
10.4.6 Replacing wheel
DANGER
Risk to life
When carrying out repairs, remove the vehicle from the
danger zone of passing traffic and wear reflective cloth-
ing.
WARNING
Risk of injury!
Check stability of ground. Park the vehicle on stable
grounds only, additionally secure it against rolling away
by means of a wheel chock.
ATTENTION
Use a suitable commercially available vehicle jack.
Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Activate parking brake.
If the motor is off, it is automatically applied.
Note
The parking brake only affects the front wheels.
Remove ignition key.
Position vehicle jack at the appropriate mounting point
for the front or rear wheel.
10.4.7 Check the motor oil level

Charger connect to battery.
Plug in mains connector and switch on charger.
Charge battery using lowest possible level of charging
current.
ATTENTION
When the battery is charged, first remove the charger from
the mains and then disconnect it from the battery.
Loosen the wheel nuts/wheel bolts by about 1 revolu-
tion using a suitable tool.
Lift the vehicle by means of a jack, additionally support
with stands.
Unscrew the wheel nuts/wheel bolts and remove them.
Remove wheel.
Note
For values concerning the tyre pressure and the weight
of the various tyres and rims see Chapter "Technical
data".
Have the defective wheel repaired by a specialised re-
pair shop.
Position the wheel and ensure that the rim is centred,
then screw in the wheel nuts/wheel bolts to the stop and
tighten them crosswise.
Lower vehicle with jack.
Torque the wheel nuts/wheel bolts to the required
torque.

Tightening torque for rear tyres
1 Oil dipstick
Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Remove the right side motor panel.
Pull out oil dipstick.
Wipe off oil dipstick and insert.
Pull out oil dipstick.
Read the value of the oil level.
Insert the oil dip again.
The oil level must lie between "MIN" and "MAX" mark-
–
ing.
Add motor oil if the oil level is below the "MIN" marking.
