- Disconnect the measuring device from all mea-
suring objects.
- Loosen and remove the screw of the battery com-
partment cover on the rear side and remove the
cover.
- Now place 2 new batteries in the battery tray. Be
sure to insert them with the positive end facing in
the right direction. Look for the plus and minus
symbols in the battery tray.
- Place the battery compartment cover on the mea-
surement device and screw it back in place care-
fully.
Caution!
Never operate the measurement device when it
is open. Mortal danger!
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or
damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For this
reason you should use suitable protective gloves.
• The batteries must not be short-circuited.
• Do not leave button cells lying around carelessly.
They could be swallowed by children or house
pets. If they are swallowed, seek the services of a
physician without delay.
• Never try to charge batteries. Do not throw batter-
ies into the fire. Explosion hazard!
• Do not leave flat batteries in the device. Even bat-
teries protected against leaking may corrode and
thus release chemicals that may be detrimental to
your health or destroy the battery compartment.
• Remove the batteries from the battery compart-
ment even if you are not going to use the mea-
surement device for a long time.
Environmental notice!
In Germany the end user is legally obliged to
return all used batteries (including button cells
and lead-acid batteries). Disposal with house-
hold waste is not permitted.
20
You may return used batteries, free of charge, to
one of our branches, to the head office in
Hirschau or, as usual, to municipal waste dis-
posal sites (re-cycling depots), which are oblig-
ed to accept them.
Performing measurements
Operating position
Always operate the clamp-on ammeter so that the
display can be read.
General
- The "HOLD" function (feature for holding the
measurement value) can be used independently
of the measurement range. To retain the mea-
surement value, press the "Data-Hold" button
briefly. To turn off the Hold function, press this
button again. You can tell when the "Hold" func-
tion is active because the inverse "H" is dis-
played.
- The clamp-on ammeter has an Auto-Power OFF
function. If the measurement device is not used
for more than 30 minutes, it turns off automati-
cally. This makes the batteries last longer. To
place the clamp-on ammeter in operation again,
turn it off and back on again.
Caution!
You should never exceed the maximum permis-
sible currents, voltages and frequencies.
When enclosing the lead or during a measure-
ment, never reach beyond the grip range mark-
ing (2). There is mortal danger in the area
beyond!
