FOR FIRST TIME USE
1. Remove any protective film or stickers on the soleplate or housing.
2. Start by ironing an old damp cloth at maximum temperature to remove any residues
left behind on the soleplate after the production process. A strange smell may be
emitted from the appliance. This disappears after a few
minutes.
Ironing
You can iron with or without steam (dry).
Dry ironing
Place the iron on the insulating pad, put the plug in the
socket and press the On/Off button. Set the temperature
dial to the desired position, depending on the fabric to
be ironed. When the temperature indicator goes out, you
can start ironing.
Steam ironing
Pull the removable water tank out of the appliance, open it and fill it with water.
Preferably use water with low calcium content or use a mixture of partly tapwater and
partly demineralised water. The maximum capacity is 1.7 litres. Do not fill above the
MAX indicator on the water tank. Carefully put the tank back into place.
Place the appliance on the insulating pad, plug into the socket and press the On/
Off button. The appliance's default position is set at low steam. Optionally, choose
a different amount of steam. Adjust the temperature dial to the desired position
depending on the fabric to be ironed.
The water in the boiler and the iron will
heat up. If the temperature indicator
switches off and the indicator at the
selected amount of steam remains steadily
lit, you can start ironing. You can adjust
the amount of steam during ironing as required.
After ironing, press the On/Off switch for an increased amount of time to turn off the
power. Unplug the appliance and let your iron cool. Never touch the soleplate before it
has fully cooled.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before you start cleaning, disconnect the power and let the unit cool.
Rub limescale deposits and any other remains off of the soleplate with a damp cloth.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or brushes.
Clean the top of the appliance with a damp cloth.
Wipe the water on the generator and the insulation pad off with a dry cloth.
To remove debris from the generator, place the appliance in a completely horizontal
position.
