8 Operating trouble

trouble
The pump fails to start
or stops
No output or a very
low output.
Very frequent starts
of the pump.
Pump does not stop
If the fault cannot be remedied, please contact wilo customer services.
cause
a) Incorrect voltage or voltage drop
b) Open circuit in motor power cable
c) The motor protection trips out
d) Integrated overload protection of
the motor ON
e) Defect electronic card of the Fluid
control.
f) The water column HR is higher
than 20 m
a) The suction strainer is obstructed.
b) No water or very low water level
in borehole.
a) Pressure contactor difference too
low
b) Bladder vessel capacity is too low
or bladder insufficiently inflated
c) The pressure gauge showed
some false pressures when one
adjusted the pressure contactor.
d) Small leaks at some points in the
installation
a) Water loss greater than 0.6 l/mn
b) Flow controller blocked by sand
c) Electronic card of the Fluid
control fault
d) OFF pressure of the control
adjusted too high

Remedial action
a) Check the voltage during starting; if the
cable cross section is too small, the
voltage drop may such that the motor
cannot function normaly
b) Measure the resistance between phases.
Refit the pump if necessary and check the
cable
c) Check the current setting on the thermal
relay and compare it to the indicated
value.
Important: Do not insist if the relay trips out
repetedly (try to locate the cause) ; forced
operation of the unit could damage the motor
(by overheating) in a very short time (about a
minute).
d) Look at the cause: if foreing bodies
obstructing the pump,have the pump
dismantled and cleaned
e) Replace the electronic card.
f) Modify the installation.
a) Reassemble the pump, clear and clean it.
b) Check this level ; it must be at least 0.20
m above the pump delivery (during
operating)..
a) Increase the gap between shutdown and
start-up.
b) Check and adjust pressures
(ON/OFF)
- Check vessel inflation.
- Increase capacity with an additionnal
tank or change the vessel.
c) Check that nipple of the pressure gauge is
located at the highest point. Relocate it if
necessary and start again the operation of
pressure adjustment .
d) Check for possible leaking taps and repair
these leaks
a) Service the installation
b) Clean the inside of the Fluid control
c) Replace the electronic card
d) Check and adjust OFF pressure
