For best results, the work piece should be
secured with the exposed side downward, to
minimise tear-off.
CUTTING
1. Place the machine with the front part of the saw
base on the work piece.
2. To turn on the plunge saw, activate the ON/OFF
switch.
3. Push the plunge switch (1) forward, press the
saw down and push it forward into cutting direc-
tion.
Guide mechanism (fi g. A, E)
The guide rails allow for precise, clean cuts and
simultaneously protect the work piece surface
against damage.
Securing the work piece with clamps ensures
a secure hold and safe working conditions.
The guide clearance of the plunge saw must be very
small for best cutting results and can be set with the
two rail adjusters (10).
1. Release the screw inside the rail adjuster to
adjust the clearance.
2. Adjust the knob until the saw locks on the rail.
3. Rotate knob back until the saw slides easily.
4. Hold the rail adjuster in position and lock the
screw again.
NOTE: ALWAYS readjust the system for
use with other rails.
SPLINTER GUARD
The guide rail is equipped with a splinter guard,
which has to be cut to size before the fi rst use:
1. Set the speed of the plunge saw to level 5.
2. Place the guide rail on a scrap piece of wood.
3. Set the plunge saw to 5 mm cut depth.
4. Place the saw on the rear end of the guide
rail.
5. Turn the saw on, press it down to the set cutting
depth and cut the splinter guard along the full
length in one continuous operation. The edge
of the splinter guard now corresponds exactly
to the cutting edge of the blade.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of injury,
ALWAYS secure the guide rail (23) with
a screw clamp (24).
Speed adjustment (fi g. A)
The speed can be regulated between 1750 and
4000 rpm using the speed adjustment wheel (19).
This enables you to optimise the cutting speed to
suit the material. Refer to the following chart for type
of material and speed range.

1. Place the plunge saw with the outer guard (22)
on a clean, fl at fl oor.
2. Press the base plate (4) with the front side on
the door against the adjusted depth stop.
Dust extraction (fi g. A)
Your tool is fi tted with a dust extraction outlet (9).
WARNING: ALWAYS connect the plunge
saw to a dust extractor.
WARNING: ALWAYS use a dust extrac-
tion device designed in accordance with
the relevant regulations regarding dust
emission.
The saw's performance and cut quality largely
depend on the blade's condition and tooth shape.
Therefore, use only sharp blades that are appropri-
ate for the material to be cut.
Correct blade choice depends on the type and
quality of the wood, and on whether lengthwise or
transverse cuts are required.
Beech and oak dust are especially hazardous to
health, so those woods should be cut only with
dust extraction.
