Troubleshooting
Problem
Unclean, rough surface
finish
Formation of film - clear
coats demonstrate a
milky appearance
Small stains on the
painted surface are not
covered
Paint runner formation
Solvent forms bubbles
No or low supply quan-
tity, interrupted or spit-
ting spraying jet
Original instruction
Cause
Paint droplets too big
Paint droplets dry too quickly
and thus cannot escape from
the gun
Spraying in colder temperatures
Condensation forms in the paint
when sprayed in hot, humid
conditions.
Silicone contamination caused
by lubricant, grease, polish or
wax on the surface for spraying
An excessive amount of paint
was applied per coat resulting in
the paint not being able to dry
properly
The sprayed surface dries before
the solvent can evaporate.
No material
Needle safeguard in removal
position.
Incorrect needle/tip set size
used
The material tip is blocked by
dried paint or damaged
Action
Adjust the material control button on the gun to reduce
of the material.
Spray at a greater distance from the workpiece.
Keep the turbine air filter clean to enable unobstructed
air flow.
Do not use excessively long air hoses to maintain a suffi-
cient atomiser pressure.
Do not expose the object for spraying to direct sunlight.
In warmer temperatures use a solvent or thinner that
evaporates more slowly.
If possible, the material and the object for spraying must
be at room temperature. The majority of paint becomes
too thick to flow properly when applied to cold surfaces.
Warm up the turbine for a few minutes before spraying.
Store paint at room temperature and do not place on
concrete floors.
Do not apply paint too thickly - multiple thin layers are
better. These layers should be allowed to dry/air bet-
ween coats.
Use a solvent or thinner that evaporates more slowly.
Do not spray in windy conditions.
Clean all parts using a suitable cleaning solution and
wipe with a dry cloth. Replace the cloth, as required
Move the gun more quickly or reduce the supply quantity.
Spray at a greater distance from the workpiece.
Reduce the thinner quantity or use a thinner that dries
more quickly.
Apply paint in thinner layers to create correct evaporation
conditions.
Only use the recommended thinner.
Follow the actions under "Unclean, rough surface finish"
in this troubleshooting table.
Check cup for material, see initial operation.
Check position of needle safeguard. Must be in SPRAY
position.
Select the right needle/tip set for the material to be
sprayed.
Clean or replace the material tip.
