5. Before starting the equipment
Assembly
1. Insert the depth stop (4) into the opening at
the back of the gear unit and fasten it with the
safety split pin (5) at the working height you
require (3 positions are available; when using
for the fi rst time we would recommend the
middle position) (Fig. 4a).
2. Plug the steering handle holder onto the engi-
ne unit. Insert the steering handle clutch lever
(6) and the steering handle start/stop lever (7)
through the openings in the steering handle
holder (8) and fasten them with the screws
(9), washers (11) and nuts (10) as shown in
Fig.4b-4c.
3. Fit the cross strut (17) as shown in Fig. 4d.
4. Fit the engine start/stop lever (14) as shown
in Fig. 4e.
5. Fitting and adjusting the clutch lever Fig. 4f
-4g
•
Remove the clutch lever (12) from the stee-
ring handle (6). Undo the screw (A) and nut
(B).
•
Hook the actuator cable on the steering hand-
le and adjust the actuator cable to maximum
length by turning the lock nuts. This will make
it easier to fit the clutch lever.
•
Hook the actuator cable (C) on the clutch le-
ver (Fig. 4f).
•
Fit the clutch lever (12) to the steering handle
(6). Do this with the screw (A) and nut (B).
•
Important: Make sure that the safety lever
2
(13) is positioned as shown in Fig. 4h.
•
Adjust to the correct actuator cable length
with the help of the adjuster (Fig. 4g/D) as
follows: When the clutch lever is pressed
there must be sufficient tension in the V-belt
for the star-type hoes to turn, whereas when
the clutch lever is released the star-type hoes
must not move. Then tighten the two lock nuts
against each other.
6. Fit the cable clip (20) as shown in Fig. 4i.
Caution! You must fi ll in engine oil and fuel before
you start up for the fi rst time.
•
Check the fuel and engine oil levels and top
up if required.
•
Make sure that the ignition cable is secured to
the spark plug.
•
Check the area immediately around the pow-
er cultivator.
