(a) Securely hold the m ain unit and rem ove the
screw using a slotted head screw driver or a coin
(Fig. 11).
(b) Rem ove the hook and spring (Fig. 12).
(c) Install the hook and spring on the other side and
securely fasten w ith screw (Fig. 13).
NOTE
Pay attention to the spring orientation. Install the
spring w ith larger diam eter aw ay from you (Fig. 13).
(3) Using the bit holder (Hook w ith bit holder)
Installing the bit
Slide the bit from the side and then insert firm ly
until the groove on the bit locks in the protruded
section of the hook.
Rem oving the bit
Securely hold the m ain unit and pull out the bit
by holding the tip w ith your thum b (Fig. 14).
CAUTION
Only Hitachi STANDARD ACCESSORIES phillips bit
(No. 2 × 65L; Code No. 983006) m ay be used. Do
not use other bits since they m ay com e loose.
11. Using the bit holder
CAUTION
Stow the bit in the specified location on the tool.
If the tool is used w ith the bit stow ed im properly,
the bit m ay fall and cause bodily injury.
Do not stow bits that are of a different length,
gauge or dim ension than the plus driver bit (65 m m
long) included in the STANDARD ACCESSORIES.
The bit m ay fall and cause bodily injury.
(1) Rem oving the bit
Securely hold the m ain unit and pull out the bit
by holding the tip w ith your thum b (Fig. 15).
(2) Installing the Bit
Install the bit w ith steps opposite of w hen rem oving.
Insert the bit so that the right and left sides are
equal, as show n in Fig. 16.
M AINTENANCE AND INSPECTION
1. Inspecting the tool
Since use of as dull tool w ill degrade efficiency and
cause possible m otor m alfunction, sharpen or
replace the tool as soon as abrasion is noted.
2. Inspecting the mounting screw s
Regularly inspect all m ounting screw s and ensure
that they are properly tightened. Should any of the
screw s be loose, retighten them im m ediately. Failure
to do so could result in serious hazard.
3. Cleaning on the outside
When the driver drill is stained, w ipe w ith a soft
dry cloth or a cloth m oistened w ith soapy w ater.
Do not use chloric solvents, gasoline or paint thinner,
for they m elt plastics.
4. Storage
Store the driver drill in a place in which the temperature
is less than 40° C and out of reach of children.
5. Service parts list
CAUTION
Repair, m odification and inspection of Hitachi Pow er
Tools m ust be carried out by a Hitachi Authorized
Service Center.
This Parts List w ill be helpful if presented w ith the
tool to the Hitachi Authorized Service Center w hen
requesting repair or other m aintenance.
In the operation and m aintenance of pow er tools,
the safety regulations and standards prescribed in
each country m ust be observed.
