5. Commissioning, operation
Glass tube mounting between the valve heads
Mount the valve heads to the vessel, aligned axially

Remove the lower and upper union nuts, gland packings, packing

rings and upper base ring from the heads and slide them over the
respective glass tube ends
First insert the glass tube into the upper head, then place into the

lower head up to the base ring
Insert the packings in the upper and lower receptacles and tighten
■
union nuts to approx. 5 Nm.

Physical injuries and damage to property and the
environment caused by hazardous media
Upon contact with hazardous media (e.g. oxygen, acety-
lene, flammable or toxic substances), harmful media (e.g.
corrosive, toxic, carcinogenic, radioactive), and also with
refrigeration plants and compressors, there is a danger of
physical injuries and damage to property and the environ-
ment.
Should a failure occur, aggressive media with extremely
high temperature and under high pressure or vacuum may
be present at the instrument.
For these media, in addition to all standard regulations,
the appropriate existing codes or regulations must also be
followed.

Wear the requisite protective equipment (see chapter
3.6 "Personal protective equipment").

With hazardous media, the drain valve may only be
opened for a short time so that the condensate can run
out.
