Mounting instructions (fig.
1.
Lift off the cover plate
as shown (fig. : A,B & C)
2.
Open the detector
and lower the cover (fig.
3.
Break out one or both cable entry hole(s)
4.
Mount the detector between 1.8 to 3.0 m high.
5.
Select the mounting holes for corner
6.
Use the base as a template for marking screw hole locations on the wall.
7.
Fasten the base to the wall.
8.
Strip 5 cm of the cable and pull it through the cable entry hole(s)
relief
(fig. ).
9.
Wire the detector as shown (fig.

.
The detector is a microwave verified PIR intrusion detector and should be installed to
maximise PIR detection. Consequently the best detection is obtained with the ex-
pected movement of an intruder perpendicular and/or diagonal towards to the mount-
ing location.
Siting the detector (fig.
The dual technology processing of this detector is very resistant to false alarm
hazards. Nevertheless avoid potential causes of false alarms, such as:
PIR Hazards:
Direct sunlight on the detector
Heat sources within a field of view
Strong air draughts on the detector
Large animals in a field of view
Microwave Hazards:
Mounting surface susceptible to vibrations
Metal surfaces reflecting microwave energy
Water movement through plastic pipes
Heating or air-conditioning ducts pointed directly at the detector
Aritech recommends that the detector is regularly walk tested and checked at the
control panel.
DD100(c)(PI) only (PI = PET Immunity) (fig.
This detector is designed to be immune up to certain sizes of pets. Pets up to 20 kg
will usually not cause any problems in standard applications. Larger pets are accom-
modated by mounting the PI detector upside down 90 cm from the floor. The recom-
mended minimum mounting height of the PI application is 2.4 m.
DD105(c) only, dual loop feature (Jumper J1) (fig.
1: Standard Alarm Loop
The tamper output is isolated from the alarm relay output and the end-of-line resistor
in the tamper circuit is short-circuited.
Terminals 3 and 4 of the alarm relay output must be used to connect to the control
panel.
Terminal 5 cannot be used to connect an end-of-line resistor. In this case use an
optional spare terminal in the base of the detector (fig.
2: End-of-line Loop
Tamper output is isolated from the alarm relay output.
The impedance of the tamper loop is now 4K7.
Terminal 4 and 5 of the alarm output must be used for connecting to the control panel.
Impedance of the alarm relay loop is 4K7.
3: Dual Loop (fig.
)
With a Dual Loop, the tamper loop and the alarm loop can be monitored over two wires.
In figure
examples are given on how to connect the detector to the control panel
and the different positions of the jumper J1 in the different detectors (Dual Loop
single and multi devices).
In normal situation (no alarm) the Dual Loop impedance is 4K7.
In case of detector alarm, the alarm relay contact will open and the impedance of the
Dual Loop will increase to 9K4, indicating an alarm. When the detector housing is
opened, the tamper circuit will be opened and the Dual Loop interrupted, indicating a
tamper alarm.
LED function (fig.

)
To walk test the detector, make sure jumper J2 is in the ON position or, in the off/
remote position and the LED is enabled remotely.

enabled remotely by applying a 0 V potential to terminal 8.

Range adjustment (fig.
PIR and microwave ranges adjusted independently by setting J3 and J4.
Always select the appropriate range setting for the dimensions of the area to be
protected area. Verify the coverage pattern and adjust as required.
Window mask (fig.
The mask is pre-fitted to the inside of the detector window and is used to mask objects
that are close to (within 1.5 m) or directly under the detector. This disables the part of
the curtains looking at an object whose closeness might otherwise cause a false
alarm.
Remove this mask to detect undercrawl.
