The receiver is switched on and off by pressing the mains
button 
 . The LED glows when the unit is ready for
use.
When you switch the receiver on it will be set up exactly
as it was when switched off.
If the unit is equipped with the remote control module you
can switch it from 'ON' state to standby with the remote
control button .
Caution!
The mains button is not a mains isolation switch. Even
when the LED is not glowing parts of the machine
remain connected to the mains power supply
(Standby mode). The stand-by current drain is stated
in the chapter entitled 'Specification'.
If the unit is not to be used for a long period we
recommend that you disconnect the mains plug at the
wall socket.
Delayed power-off (sleep timer)
The receiver features a delayed power-off function (sleep
mode). This function switches the unit off, together with
all the  R
devices connected to it, after a vari-
LINK
able delay. The delay period can be set to a value
between 10 and 60 minutes.
Activating the power-off delay:
Switch on the receiver and the source device you wish to
use. Hold the 
 button on the receiver pressed in
for about 3 seconds until 6 of the listening source LEDs
light up. In this mode the LEDs indicate the power-off
delay period in 10-minute increments (6 x 10 min =
60 min). The time can be reduced in 10-minute steps by
repeatedly pressing the 
 button. The LEDs always
indicate the delay you have currently set.
The delay period is activated when the machine detects
that you have not pressed the 
of about 4 seconds. The 
indicate that the power-off delay is running.
Note:
It can be switched off at any time by pressing the 
button briefly.
PHONES
Socket for stereo. The unit is fitted out with a separate
high quality phone-amplifier, which works independently
of the loudspeaker-amplifier.
Note:
Continuous listening to very loud programme material via
earphones or headphones can result in permanent
hearing loss. You can prevent harm to your own health
by avoiding long periods of listening at high levels when
using headphones or earphones.

To avoid feedback problems it is not possible for a re-
corder to record from itself.

You can press any of these signal source buttons
(TAPE 1, TAPE 2, CD, TUNER, TV, AUX) to select a
signal source as input.
The signal from this source is then passed on via the

Note:
The LEDs above the source buttons indicate which
source is currently being auditioned. If an MM or MC
