Make sure you know which side section belongs on which side. You can tell this from
the Rolf Benz logo which is located on the right side section. Each side section is at-
tached with 4 x M8x80mm hexagon screws. It is recommended that you start with the
front screws (which are now at the top). Insert the first screw, with a washer, through
the rear hole. You may need to push the black-coated foam slightly upwards.
Hold the screw from the inside with your hand and guide the side section towards the
sofa until the screw enters the corresponding opening in the side section. As soon
as you feel a slight resistance, the screw should be screwed into the thread by hand
for the first few turns. If the screw cannot be turned by hand, it may have been set at
an angle and tilted. Do not use force to screw it in further, but take it out and screw it
in again. Once the first screw is a few turns deep in the thread, you can insert the 3
remaining screws into the side section from the inside to the outside and tighten them
by hand. Only the two front screws of one side section are fitted with washers. At the
rear, the screws are inserted through a metal plate and therefore do not require any
additional washers.
Have the side sections, the supplied
screws and the appropriate tools rea-
dy.
You will need an SW13 fork or ring
spanner or an appropriate ratchet.
Place the first side section on its side,
upright next to the sofa.
