DALI version (+HFSB)
Function
The integrated HF DALI sensor in addition to featuring an HR sensor for motion
detection is also equipped with a sensor for measuring the ambient brightness.
The luminaire is switched on in accordance with detected movement and measured
brightness values. Further DALI luminaires can be connected to and controlled by
the sensor via the DALI bus. Simple system expansion and establishing of groups is
possible with additional HF DALI sensors.
Each HF DALI sensor features a DALI master and DALI slave interface.
The DALI master interface controls the connected DALI luminaires and also provides
power for the DALI bus. The DALI slave interface is for networking to an upstream
sensor and connecting to its DALI master interface. Communication between sensors
is implemented over both interfaces.
Each HF DALI sensor with its connected DALI luminaires forms an independent
group. Such groups can contain up to 15 DALI luminaires.
An HF DALI sensor without further DALI luminaires also behaves as a group.
Several groups are combined to create a complete group consisting of all HF DALI
sensors and DALI luminaires physically connected on the DALI bus.
An HF DALI sensor functions as a repeater and filter for DALI commands exchanged
between both DALI interfaces (DALI master interface/DALI slave interface) within a
complete group.
If based on its sensor value an HF DALI sensor decides to switch on the DALI
luminaires in its group, it informs both adjacent HF DALI sensors about this. The
system settings then determine how the adjacent sensors behave.
Both operating modes are outlined below:
Group mode behaviour
If one of the HF DALI sensors detects a movement and if the brightness value is
below the programmed threshold for ambient brightness, all DALI luminaires in
the complete group are dimmed to the programmed main light level.
Swarm mode behaviour
If the system is in swarm operating mode, only the DALI luminaires of the directly
adjacent subgroups are dimmed to the programmed main light level instead of all
DALI luminaires in the complete group.
This enables control of only those luminaires near to the detected movement; all
other luminaires in the complete group remain switched off or remain in basic light
mode.
This operating mode enables e.g. "running" or "pre-running" light, meaning the
group is successively switched on in front of the detected person.
