8. Connecting headphones
You can connect commercial headphones to the 3.5mm socket (20) on the back of the device if e.g. you do
not want to disturb your neighbours at night. Playback over the built-in speaker is switched off automatical-
ly when the headphones are connected.
First reset the volume of the digital drum kit to zero. Put the headphones into the socket (20)
and then put them on. Now carefully turn up the volume.
With excessive volume there is a danger of hearing impairment!
Therefore set the volume so that it feels pleasant and is not too loud!
9. Connecting an external amplifier
An external amplifier (with line input level) can also be connected to the 3.5mm socket (20) in place of head-
phones.
Turn the volume on the digital drum kit to zero and switch it off.
Switch off the external amplifier.
Connect the external amplifier. Connect the socket (20) with a suitable cable connection
(3.5mm stereo plugs on two cinch plugs) e.g. with the AUX-IN or TAPE-IN on the amplifier. It
must be an input with LINE level.
Turn back the volume of the amplifier.
Switch on the amplifier and the digital drum kit afterwards.
Carefully turn the volume of the digital drum kit and amplifier somewhat higher; set the desired
volume.

15. Maintenance and cleaning
Regularly examine the mechanical safety of the product, e.g. for damage on the housing (and the external
power pack, if available).
If it is ascertained that a safe operation is no longer possible, the product should be taken out of operation
and secured against accidental operation. Switch off the digital drum kit, disconnect it from the external

power pack and disconnect the external power pack from the mains voltage. Also remove possibly inserted
batteries/cells!
It can be ascertained that a safe operation is no longer possible, if
- the device shows visible damage,
- the device does not work any longer
- after longer storage under unfavourable conditions or
- after heavy transport stresses.
Before cleaning or maintaining the device, carefully observe the following safety instructions:
A dry, soft, lint-free cloth is sufficient for cleaning the product.
For stronger cleaning, you can lightly dampen the cloth with lukewarm water.
Before cleaning, maintaining or repairing the device, it must be disconnected from all voltage
supplies. Switch off the digital drum kit, take out the batteries/cells and/or disconnect it from
the external power pack.
There are no parts to be maintained by the user inside the product.
When opening covers or removing parts, live parts can be exposed.
Condensers in the device can be still charged even if the device was disconnected from all vol-
tage supplies.
A repair may only be performed by a specialist familiar with the associated risks and relevant
regulations.
Wait until the device is completely dry before connecting the digital drum kit, inserting batte-
ries or connecting with an external power pack!
