Data transmission properties
RS transmission
Network topology
technology
Linear bus, active bus termination at both ends, spur lines are possible
Medium
Screened twisted-pair cable, depending on the ambient conditions (EMV) the screening
may be omitted
Number of stations
32 stations in each segment without repeater. With repeaters can be extended to 127
Max. bus length without repeater
100 m with 12 MBit/s cable A: 200 m for 1500 kBit/s, up to 1.2 km for 93.75 kBit/s
Max. bus length with repeater
By using repeaters, the maximum bus length can be increased into the 10 km range.
There should be at least 3 repeaters and, depending on the manufacturer, there can be
up to 10
Transmission
9,6; 19,2: 9.6; 19.2: 93.75; 187.5; 500; 1500 KBit/s, up to 12 MBit/s is set automatically

9-pin D-sub connector

Safety features
The field bus nodes are equipped with a shutdown monitor so the power source can
interrupt the process if data transmission drops out. If there is no data transmission
within 700 ms, all inputs and outputs are reset and the power source goes into „Default"
status. Once data transmission has been re-established, the following signals resume
the process:
