Product description
The HPT 1xxx-CC-xxxx-xxxx-S2PD-xxx pressure transmitter is specially designed for use
in safety circuits/safety functions as a part of the functional safety of machines up to SIL 2
(according DIN EN 61508) or PL d Cat 2 (according DIN EN ISO 13849). The pressure
transmitter is designed to be a sensor element (SRP/CS) on electronic control systems
(E/E/PE system).
During stable normal operation the pressure transmitter generates two pressure
proportional output signals and cyclically performs internal diagnostic steps which identify
systematic and random errors.
In case of a detected internal error the pressure transmitter switches to the "safe state".
During operation, the safety function is tested by evaluating and comparing the two
analogue output signals in a higher-level system.
The safety function is suited for operating modes with high requirement rate or continuous
demand.

Operating elements
The pressure transmitter does not have any operating controls. User intervention is
therefore neither possible nor necessary.
6
Installation and commissioning
The pressure transmitters can be mounted directly on the process side via their threaded
connection.
In the first step, the pressure transmitter should be screwed in manually in order to avoid the
thread to become damaged unintendedly. In the next step, the pressure transmitter should
be tightened by means of a torque wrench at the corresponding flat using the specified
tightening torque, see chapter Tightening torques
Please ensure that the thread is clean in order to prevent from damaging the pressure
transmitter during installation.
In order to prevent mechanical damage when dealing with critical applications involving
heavy vibrations or blows, for example, we recommend securing the unit with an elastomer
clamp and decoupling the hydraulic ports via a Minimess hose.
The related EMC standards apply. However, the stipulations of those standards are met
only if the sensor's housing has been correctly connected and earthed by a qualified
electrician.
Proper and professional grounding of the transmitter is carried out via its process
connection.
Keep the unit well away from the electrical supply lines of power equipments as well as from
any electrical or electronic equipment causing interference, i.e. frequency inverters.
It is absolutely necessary to take reliable measures in order to exclude the communication
via radio devices near the transmitter.
