Procedure for Upper Manual Valve Assembly
1.
Position plate (item 11) and bearing (item 12) into cap.
2.
Place o-ring (item 10) into cap groove.
3.
Place o-ring (item 15) and backup washer (item 14) onto
shaft (item 13).
4.
Place roll pin (item 17) into thru hole in disc (item 16). Insert
shaft (item 13) into disc from the solid side of the disc. Align
the thru hole in the shaft with the thru hole in the disc and
press or hammer roll pin until flush with disc outside
diameter.
5.
Lubricate the o-ring and backup washer on the shaft with
grease. Insert the shaft and disc assembly into the valve
cap (item 9).
6.
Place springs (item 22) in each of 3 holes except for hole on
tank side of the body (item 23).
7.
Assemble shear seal (item 18) with 2 backups (item 19) and
o-ring (item 20). The o-ring is placed between the backup
washers.
8.
Lubricate the o-ring and backup washers. Insert the shear
seal assemblies into body (item 23) by hand.
9.
Tighten body onto cap with 2 screws (item 24) with a 5/32"
hex wrench, hand tight.
10. Place 4 o-rings (item 25) onto body.
11. Mount upper valve assembly onto manifold using 4 socket
head cap screws (item 62). Torque to 28-34 ft-lbs [38-46
Nm].
12. Insert spring (item 6) into hole in item 9. Install ball (item 5)
onto the spring.
13. Place disk (item 4) with sharp edged side facing upwards
onto the shaft and resting on ball.
14. Place handle (item 3) onto shaft. Insert washer (item 2) onto
shaft. Apply Loctite 222 to threads on screw (item 1) and
hand tighten.
Procedure for Locking Valves block only:
1.
Seat ball (item 40, figure 4) onto seat (item 33, figure 4) with
press (800 psi with 10-ton ram or 1600 psi with 5-ton ram).
2.
Place o-ring (item 34) and backup (item 35) onto one seat
and lubricate with grease.
3.
Lubricate bore in body with oil and place item 33 into hole.
(See Figure 4 for exact location.)
4.
Place seat with ball facing up into opposite hole.
5.
Place gasket (item 31) onto plugs (item 32). Install o-ring
(item 30) onto plug.
6.
Dip spring (item 39) in grease and place into plug.
7.
Thread plug assembly without spring (see Figure 4) into
manifold ends. Torque to 85-95 ft-lbs [115-128 Nm].
8.
Assemble piston (item 42) with o-ring (item 38) and washer
(item 40).
9.
Turn manifold over and place piston assembly into manifold
10. Place seat with ball facing up into hole. Use seat tool to
position seat in manifold.
11. Thread plug assembly with spring into manifold end. Torque
to 85-95 ft-lbs [115-128 Nm].
