Subwoofer Output
Aggregate signal FL+RL and FR+RR for connecting an
active subwoofer.

Level controls for input sensitivity
These controls can be used to match the input sensitivity
for the channels front and rear.
Caution: Please be very careful with the volume if
you set up the input sensitivity. To prevent damage
to the loudspeakers, avoid excessive volume for too
long periods which is noticable by an unpleasant
distorted sound. Please notice the chapter on opti-
mizing the volume set up on page 16 of this manual!

AUX-Input
2 x 3,5 mm jack plug for connecting a navigation system,
iPod, MP3-players etc.
The intelligent AUX-Input of the PP40 DSP automatically
detects input signals of external devices. The PP40 DSP
automatically switches between radio and AUX-Inputs.
The default setting of the input priorities of the AUX-In-
puts is as follows:
• AUX2/delay time: 2 sec.
• AUX1/delay time: 4 sec.
• Radio.
After connecting an external device to the PP40 DSP, its
sig-nal will be rendered and the radio signal will be muted.
If there is no signal at AUX1 for more than ca. 4 seconds
and at AUX2 for more than ca. 2 seconds, the amplifi er

automatically switches back to the radio signal.
Due to the default delay time, AUX2 is recommended for
connecting a navigation system. AUX1 is recommended
e.g. for connecting a MP3-Player. The default delay time
can be adjusted via the HELIX remote control which can
be ordered separately.
The volume of the AUX-Input has to be set up direcly
at the external device. Please note that the PP40 DSP
will not detect the signal if the volume of the external de-
vice is too low. In this case it will automatically render
the radio signal. The volume can also be adjusted by the
HELIX remote control which can be obtained separately.
4
Remote Control
RJ45 jack plug for connecting the remote control which is
available separately.
5
Micro-SD Cardreader
The Micro-SD Cardreader copies vehicle specifi c setups
to the PP40 DSP. After having inserted the Micro-SD
Card, the setup fi le will be automatically copied to the
PP40 DSP. While the copy process is in progress, the
Status LED (7) fl ashes red. It changes to green when the
process is fi nished.
ATTENTION: Don't remove the Micro-SD Card while the
copy process is in progress.
The PP40 DSP can manage two different setup fi les.
They are marked with the fi le extensions „af1" and „af2".
