6.1.4 Installing the Ex p Purge Valve with G 1/4" Connection
The wall thickness must not exceed 5 mm.

Check that your chosen position allows sufficient space for an Ex p purge valve to be
installed inside.
▶
Drill one dia. 17 to 18 mm through hole in the surface of the Ex p cabinet.
▶
Use an adhesive to securely bond the two conical parts of the separable threaded union
into the pressure regulator and bulkhead union.
▶
Securely screw in the pressure gauge on either the left or right, depending on the
installation position.
▶
Use the bulkhead union and the two washers to securely screw the Ex p purge valve into
the Ex p cabinet wall (tightening torque 2 Nm).
▶
On the pressure regulator, check that the correct side of the pressure gauge is visible and,
using the pressure gauge's seal, move it to the correct position.
▶
Put the pressure regulator in place and tighten the union nut on the detachable threaded
union (tightening torque 2 Nm).
Please note:
No lock washers are needed when installing the valve as the design adequately prevents
the connection from coming loose. The pressure gauge is only loosely screwed in at the
factory in order to avoid pre-compressing the pressure gauge's seal. If the prescribed
tightening torques are observed, the installation will be sufficiently leaktight. No additional
sealing measures are necessary.
