SPIN TYPE
If you connect the ultrasonic sensor for geometric
wheel analysis, the working environment has
different spin types that the operator can select
based on his requirements, i.e.:
•
wheel unbalance detection and
radial eccentricity acquisition of the complete
wheel (1st harmonic).
For the acquisition of radial eccentricity of the
peak-to-peak wheel it is necessary to launch
the WHEEL DIAGNOSIS PROGRAM Suite.
•
Wheel unbalance detection and
radial eccentricity acquisition of the complete
wheel (1st harmonic) and rim (1st harmonic
and peak-peak) in addition to the outside side
plane of the wheel and rim. For the acquisi-
tion of radial eccentricity of the peak-to-peak
wheel it is necessary to launch the WHEEL
DIAGNOSIS PROGRAM Suite.
•
Wheel unbalance detection and
radial eccentricity acquisition of the complete
wheel and rim. In this mode, the machine
performs the geometric analysis of the wheel
within a second low speed launch.
By checking this FLAG, the machine cycle time
increases as data regarding the geometry of
EM9780 plus - EM9780 C plus AutomaticLine - Operator's manual
the wheel is acquired.
In all the types indicated above, at the end
of the spin, if the measured run-out is greater
than the set threshold, there may be a refer-
ence (in line with the external imbalance
indicator) showing the possibility to launch the
BEST FIT programme. The operator can move
to that position manually (the
will appear on the screen), then proceed as
follows:
- remaining in that position and enabling the
clamping brake if necessary by pressing the
STOP button, make a chalk mark on the tyre
at the 12 o'clock point;
- at the end of the balancing procedure, the
wheel must be disassembled from the hub
and then refitted on the vehicle with the mark
corresponding to the 12 o'clock position.
For more information, refer to chapter "3.1.
Radial run-out measurement and BEST FIT".
For the acquisition of the peak-to-peak radial
run-out of the wheel, perform a spin within
the WHEEL DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMME suite.
IMPORTANT
In order to carry out the complete wheel diag-
nosis, it is necessary to extract the ultrasonic
sensor inside the column (Fig.11c) so that
the emitter / receiver (A, Fig.11d) is near the
center of the wheel .
