First of all, wire the connection to the PEN (protec-
tive conductor) busbar in the distribution board and
to the equipotential bonding strip that is connected
to the foundation earth. When doing so, observe the
following notes:
- Configure the wiring in accordance with the
regulations pertaining to lightning protection
and surge protectors contained in VDE 0100.
- Only carry out wiring using rigid PEN cables
(green/yellow) with a cross section of 2.5 mm
that conform to standards.
- Wire to the PEN busbar and the equipotential
bonding strip by the shortest possible route,
with no interconnections.
Next, wire the connection to the system power
supply unit (terminals 1.4 and 1.8) and the connec-
tion to the devices to be protected (terminals 2.4
and 2.8), ensuring that the correct polarity is strictly
observed at the terminals.
If the device is used within an RS485 wired system,
wire the connection to the bus (terminals 1.3 and
1.7). If this bus does not feature the required bus
terminator, set the "Bus terminator" slide switch to
"ON".
